Welcome to Kilmarnock!
The town boundaries are approximately 2 square miles. Rt. 3 or Main Street runs east\west through Kilmarnock and Rt. 200 runs north into Northumberland County or south towards the Town of Irvington. The Kilmarnock post office covers a much larger area especially north along Rt. 200 so it’s possible to have a Kilmarnock postal address but not live within the town’s municipal limits.
The heart of downtown Kilmarnock is Steptoe’s District where the original Steptoe’s Ordinary was located. This is now a pedestrian friendly area filled with shopping from clothing and jewelry to antiques and home furnishings to professional services. Enjoy dining at our boutique restaurants or spend the night at an inn or bed and breakfast.
North along Main Street are our more traditional, big box establishments.
The municipality offers water and sewer services to its residents and businesses as well to some locations just outside its boundaries.
