Come enjoy Kilmarnock’s newest feature, Baylor Park, located on the northern edge of Kilmarnock on Rt. 3.
Named for Dr. Richard Baylor, the founder and devoted physician of the Northern Neck Free Health Clinic, this park includes a nearly half mile long nature trail that follows an old road around the boundaries of Norris Pond. Recently added to Virginia’s birding and wildlife trails, you can view waterfowl, native plants and enjoy the outdoors along this quiet stretch of ground. Once completed, the park will feature environmental education opportunities for the public to enjoy.
Located at 770 N. Main St, off Rt. 3 (Main St.) between Old Fair Grounds Way and Good Luck Road. The entrance is only accessible from northbound Rt. 3, on the right just before the bottom of the hill. Parking is available on site.
The trail is open dawn to dusk daily. There are several ground rules to ensure a safe and enjoyable visit to Baylor Park. Download our Park Guide and, please, NO pets, fires, boat launching, littering or overnight camping. The pond itself is private property and not a part of the park.
