Town Council Vacancy Information
UPDATED 1/5/2025 (DATE & TIME CHANGE): The Town of Kilmarnock currently has a vacancy on its Town Council. Pursuant to the Town’s Charter and State Code, Town Council will make an interim appointment to fill this seat. The position to be filled by appointment of council is intended to serve until the winner of the next election qualifies. A candidate will most likely stand for an Election in November 2025 for the balance of the current term ending December 31, 2026. The election timing will be determined by the Circuit Court
Qualified Town voters interested in an interim appointment to Council should express their interest by completing an application at www.kilmarnockva.com (under “Latest News”) including a resume and letter of their interest in serving. There will be a Special Called Meeting of Town Council on January 16, 2025 @ 3:00PM (formally January 13, 2025 at 5:00 PM) at Town Hall to make the appointment. All qualified candidates will be invited to speak about their interests in serving.
